I grew up speaking Punjabi.

English was a foreign country I visited
in school and left behind at the gate.
Arabic felt impossible. Chinese felt
like another universe entirely.

Every language I have ever learned
started the same way —
with the exact same fear you feel right now.

The fear of one mistake defining you.
The fear of opening your mouth
in a room full of people
and hearing silence where your words should be.

I know that feeling in my bones.
I have lived it six times over.

And every single time —
the fear was never the truth.

It was a habit. Installed by a system
that ranked my accent, graded my pronunciation,
and handed me the blame for its own failures.

That realisation changed everything.

It became my teaching philosophy.
It became my research.
It became FUSHA.

Not a language school.
